Vintage Embroidered Tai-Dum Head Scarf TTL43

This exotic vintage textile is a lovely example of the traditional head-cloths worn by the Tai-Dum (black Thai) women in Laos and Vietnam. It is made from indigo dyed, hand-spun cotton with end panels embroidered with silk and well as cotton embellishments. The lively patina of the silk provides a pleasant contrast against the matte cotton.

The condition is excellent for a well-worn vintage piece with just a small old repair at one end of the textile. These distinct textiles display well as table runners or wall hangings.
