Vintage Silk Textiles Vietnam STL40

From Northern Vietnam, these 2 woven vintage silk and cotton panels once adorned the bottom of a traditional tube skirt known as seen ko, worn by the women of North Vietnam. The tradition of weaving such adornments for skirts is centuries old; the tradition passed from mother to daughter. All stitching is done by hand. The panels are made of hand spun, hand woven cotton, embroidered with an ancient motif in silk.
