Vintage Hmong Silk Textile Laos STL47

$175.00

This vintage hand woven silk and cotton textile is from Laos where the tradition of silk weaving is centuries old; a skill passed from mother to daughter. It was woven by the Hmong hill tribe living in Phongsali in Northern Laos about 30 years ago. The ancient motifs such as diamonds are important symbols in Laotian culture. This piece is reversible with warm, intense pinks on one side as show in the macro shots and a more subtle combination on the other side, including green, blue, and gold, as shown in the main photo.
