This antique conical hat is from Northern Thailand. It was constructed using coils of bamboo, which were then treated with lacquer, and decorated with traditional floral motifs and ‘jewels’. It would lend itself well to being hung on a wall. The hat is surprisingly heavy and solidly constructed.
