Pair19thC Gilded Buddhist Temple Panels EUO132

Over a century old, this pair of antique Buddhist temple panels were sculpted from teak wood, gilded in 24K gold leaf, and decorated with stained glass ‘jewels’. The panels most likely once adorned each side of an abbot’s chair located inside the bot (most sacred part of the wat or temple). They have been mounted on a stand for display and under lights, the panels look superb.

Genuine Burmese antiques of this nature are very difficult to find nowadays and make an exotic addition to home decor.
