Decorated Antique Bronze Buffalo Bell Burma EBB100

This is among the most charming bells we have offered to date. Cast in bronze during the mid-late 19th century, this buffalo or cattle bell is from Mandalay, Burma where it is referred to as hka-lauk. It is decorated with a scrolling design on both sides in an attractive pattern that we have not seen before.  The bronze has a lovely patina with some green oxidization. The ‘ears’ of the bell are well worn as is the rim of the bell where the clappers strike. It hangs from a quality custom built stand, which is included.
