Antique Hill Tribe Silver Bracelet ETJ156

$475.00

Hollow silver hill tribe bracelets such as this were made in a wide variety of designs by the Shan as well as the Mien and Hmong hill tribe peoples. They were treasured by the men of the Lahu and Akha minority hill tribe groups of Southeast Asia.

This antique silver bracelet bears a simple, elegant tear shaped design at the sides. It is made from high grade silver often obtained from melted down French silver coins. The silver has an attractive aged patina but could be polished to a high shine. The yellowish marks on the inside of the bracelet can be removed with cleaning. It was acquired on a recent trip to Laos where authentic antique hill tribe silver jewellery is now very scarce.
